Golden Eagle fishing report 1-17 Belmar
Golden Eagle fishing report 1-17 Belmar
January 15th 2011
Interesting day fishing for the Macks. The day started out with calm seas, low wind and a good drift or two to start. The rest of the day was a bit challenging with picky fishing and only a few strings of macks on every drift. the winds came up and so did the drift. There were plenty of readings but the bite was finicky. The water temp was between 39.6 and 40deg which could explain the slow bite. This does not mean the end of the mack run as there are plenty of fish there, they will turn on. As usual the dogfish were challenging at times

Mack fishing remains Very Solid with full coolers at the end of the trips. Medium and some larger macks are the main catch with some mini’s mixed in. The weather has been an issue but when we do get out...Its On!
Watch for our Winter Cod & Ling Schedule coming soon!
